Single Handedly Clips to and Unclips from Vehicle Mount
The innovative Datalux TRU-Keyboard has a unique and proprietary design that enables the user to remove the keyboard from the mount with a slight squeeze of the clip at the back of the keyboard. New push-to-latch feature enables the keyboard to be reattached to the TRU-Mount with a simple press of the grab bar and the tactile latching mechanism ensures that TRU-Keyboard is safely re-attached to vehicle mount.
Designed as part of Datalux’s total mobile computing solution
The TRU-Keyboard was specifically engineered to function as a system with the Datalux TRU-Mount and TM110 rugged tablet or Tracer fixed mount mobile computer. When clipped in the TRU-Mount, the keyboard can tilt and swivel to provide the driver or passenger an ergonomic typing position. With the keyboard unclipped, it can be placed in the lap or any place that is comfortable for typing. In addition, an optional bracket can be attached to the keyboard which enables it to be securely inserted into the steering wheel (of a parked vehicle) – perfect for writing longer reports.
Two levels of protection against spills
The standard model has full travel keys and the feel of a desktop keyboard yet still performs in harsh environments; it features a membrane below the keytops that protects components from damaging liquids. The industrial silicone rubber version is completely sealed against liquid ingress and designed to meet NEMA 4X specifications, making it resistant to water, dirt, dust, ice and corrosives.
Features for public safety
The Datalux TRU-Keyboard builds on many years of proven performance in police, fire and EMS vehicles. It is manufactured with switches rated at 10 million cycles and a tough polycarbonate housing. Red LED backlighting features 8 levels of brightness and is ideal for nighttime or ambient light use. In addition to the standard US English key legends, the TRU-Keyboard is also offered in French. A coiled USB cable is also offered.
Fingerprint reader option for 2-factor authentication
To satisfy 2FA requirements mandated by the FBI-CJIS security policy, the TRU-Keyboard is available with an integrated fingerprint reader. The large (nearly 0.5″ x 0.7″) active sensing area has 180×256 pixel resolution for accurate and reliable fingerprint scans. Withstands 1 million finger touches.
